Abroader is an international talent and jobs platform that connects people with opportunities abroad and helps employers hire across borders.

The data controller is Abroader OÜ, a company registered under Estonian e-residency and operated from London, United Kingdom.

This policy applies to all visitors and users of abroader.io and covers data processed under both UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

  • To understand how people use the site so we can make it better.

  • To comply with our legal obligations under UK and EU law.

We will never use your email address for anything other than what you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on the following:

  • WhatsApp (Meta) — used for customer support chat. Messages sent via WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.
  • TikTok, Instagram, Facebook — we maintain social media pages on these platforms. Interactions on those platforms are governed by their respective privacy policies.
  • Email service provider — used to send newsletters. We only share your email address with our provider for this purpose.
  • Hosting & infrastructure — our website is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Servers may be located in the EU or UK.

We only share your personal data with third parties where it is necessary to provide our services, and we require all third parties to respect your data and comply with applicable law.

7. Data retention

We only keep your data for as long as we need it.

  • Newsletter subscribers — we keep your email until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted within 30 days.
  • Analytics data — retained for up to 26 months, after which it is aggregated or deleted.
  • Support enquiries — messages and correspondence kept for up to 2 years for reference, then deleted.
  • Cookie preferences — stored in your browser until you clear them or change your choice.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
